F-Series N20/N26/N55 Melted Terminals

Issue: Pump terminals on the top hat have melted through the top hat.

Cause: This is a fairly common issue with these cars. It is due from poor crimps on the harness in the car and is from the factory this way. Not every car has the issue but it will reveal itself when upgrading the fuel pump and pulling more current through the wiring harness.

The solution to this is to have the pump sent in to us for repair and installation of a 2 wire hermetic seal to bypass the factory crimps.

If the melting has caused too much damage to the top hat where it cannot be repaired then a replacement will need to be purchased. 9 times out of 10 we can repair the damage in house.

The pump will be sent back with Spade Terminals so the customer can connect the hermetic seal wires to the factory wires.

The reason we sent spade terminals is so if the pump needs to be removed again for any reason the customer will not have to cut the wires and splice them together again.
